The Sector Transformation Grant, created by the Community Housing Transformation Center (a project of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation), aims to fund projects that will address the gaps in housing services across Canada. On behalf of AHC, HOUSE put forth an application for this grant for the following activities:

• Build organizational capacity and expertise for creating affordable student housing;
• Build awareness of the organization with stakeholders;
• Conduct a feasibility study and create a business plan for the York University project;
• Campaign for an undergraduate levy at the Keele campus; and
• Continue to support engagement and collaboration with York University students, staff, faculty, and community members.

We received $168,000 from this grant! We look forward to expanding our capacities and continuing our work towards affordable housing for the York University community.
